I would like to say, greeting to everyone who passes on the Forest. Today marks a tragic event that happened a year ago. Owen Hart was taken from this world. He left behind his beloved wife, children, father, mother, brothers and sisters.
Time as gone by so fast. I remember when Owen came into WWF. He was a young vibrant man full of life. Owen was what I call the rising star of WWF. And surely he proved himself time and time again. Though Owen learned from his Dad,Stu. Owen knew he had the ability to become something.
I watched Owen grow over the years and become a man of distiction among his peers and the people he work with. He learned to balance his wrestling career and his family life. Above all else, Owen was a family man. I remember him coming in as the Blue Blazer. I thought how cocky the gimmick but it worked for Owen. Kids loved the Blue Blazer as well as the adults. With that gimmick alone, you could see the playful side of Owen. He was one to make his fans laugh let alone his oppents.
Owen accomplished alot over the years. There was even a gimmick where Bret and Owen were suppose to be fueding one another. Two brothers that loved one another in the ring trying to show how much they hated each other. There were times I almost caught both of them wanting to burst into laughter. But, they remained true to the gimmick they were playing.
Owen brought with him a sense of fun. He knew not to take the business to seriously or believe in the hype because if he did he would lose himself. Owen was a man to look up to next to his brother Bret who still wrestles. Bret was to leave WWF to go to WCW. Owen wanted to go with Bret but that was not meant to be, so Owen did what was neccesary. He was a jokester from my understanding and watching the awards that WWF use to do I could tell that he kept most of the other wrestlers in stitches.
Owen like his brother was a man of honor. As I watched him grow in the ring I felt as if he were part of my family. I expected to see him there at every show and he was. Till, the fatel day of his death. Days went by after that, that I tried to get the thought out of my head about what I saw. All I could do was mourn. We lost a great wrestler that day. Owen was a Phenom in his own right. I often think of Owen even now and sometimes wonder what he thinks of WWF now. So, to the Hart Family let me say that Owen is not forgotten but he is in our hearts and he is a True Phenom.
