REVIN SAMUEL REPORTING

PAIN CLINIC AUDIO SHOW REPORT

Reporters note: The Undertaker discusses his debut in the WWF back in 1990, the changes in the WWF since he arrived till now. He discusses his injuries, and why he is a bit slower in the ring these days and he talks about his new character in the WWF as well.

HOSTS: GABRIELLE, DANGER BOY, ANDREW THE AUTHORITY JOSEPH, AND THE CASHMAN RICHIE RICH

SPECIAL GUEST: THE UNDERTAKER

Richie talks about his upcoming interview with The Undertaker and how rare it is that the Undertaker does interviews. They talk about how Taker in the past has avoided the media but is now starting to come out and speak more because of the change in his character.

Discussion of BATB ppv and how it could be Hogan’s last match.

Discussion of ECW and how TNN is keeping them into the middle of September to screw them from getting on to any other television stations. They talk about how the WWF moving to TNN is the biggest news story in the last decade even though it is a business move.

They talk about how the reviewers are giving Wyclef John’s song with The Rock not good reviews and that The Rock’s lines in the songs are terrible. One of the hosts agrees that Rock does not sound good in the song, and that Wyclef only wanted The Rock to sell a lot of songs, and they don’t think there is anything wrong with that.

Discussion of Bischoff and Russo making surprise appearances at the ppv.

They say WCW wants Sting back at the ppv, but he doesn’t want to come back, because he doesn’t want to revise his gimmick like they want him too.

Discussion of Vampire signing a recording contract with ICP. Talk about the great matches Vampiro and Muta can have.

Discussion of how the WWF will be able to explain it when Rock goes over Benoit. One of the hosts thinks Benoit is destined to hold the title for a long time, and is on a higher level then The Rock. Another host can’t picture Benoit with the title and won’t believe it till he sees it. They talk about he doesn’t have the one thing Vince McMahon likes, which is size.

They talk about how Jim Cornette has a pet project, which is working on getting Mark Henry’s head back in the game so hopefully he can make it back to the WWF. They wonder if Mark will ever have his head straight again after the program with Mae Young.

THE UNDERTAKER JOINS THE SHOW IN A TAPED INTERVIEW

Richie says its good to see Taker back in the WWF.

Taker says its good to be back and “so far, so good”.

How does he feel about the change in persona? He doesn’t want to call it change, he thinks it’s called evaluation. He says he presented the Undertaker in the gothic and medieval sense for about ten years and he got to present a lot of his views and believes and he says he took that character in that form as far as he could. He says he still thinks he has the support from the same people who supported him as the old Taker and he still has the same believes and views but he’s just taken his character into the year 2000.

Does Taker sill remember much about his debut in the WWF as the Undertaker? He still remembers. He says his first official on camera live event was the Survivor Series. He says his first two TV tapings were in Rochester or Syracuse, and that was a little preview of what they had in store for fans for the next decade.

Does he prefer being a heel or a face? It doesn’t really matter to him, he just wants to get in the ring and get it on. Whoever he can have the most entertaining matches with and that person does not dog the match and the fans appreciate it, then that’s all that matters. He says fans care more about entertainment and athleticism now then they do about whether you’re a heel or face.

Over the years does Taker think Steve Austin blurred the line between face and heel? Taker thinks Austin was where the reality base program was going with the WWF. And the goodie, goodie face was kind of passé and fans grew tired of that and wanted to see more of a beer drinking, red neck who likes to flip his boss off and slap him around more then a guy who stands up for what’s right and what’s wrong.

How is the rehab of the injures going, and they have heard that he is not 100%? He says its true and that he’s not 100%. He says he’s about 75%, maybe 80% on a good day. He says he’s working through it and everything he does in the ring he has to think about, and he’ll be glad when he can get in the ring and just let it all go. He says every time he does a move he still has to make sure his arms and hips are the right position, and he hopes within the next two months he’ll be up to 100% and be back to just plain kicking ass.
